About Aimee
I’m Aimee Buchanan, clinical nutritionist, lipoedema advocate, and the woman behind The Lippy Nutritionist. I’ve been living with and managing my own lipoedema for over 15 years.
Everything I teach, I actually live. The meals I share are the meals I eat. The programs I’ve built came from my own body, my own frustration, and all the things I wish someone had explained to me years ago.

My story
For most of my adult life, I was doing all the things. Eating well. Exercising. Trying the plans. Following the advice. And still, my body didn’t respond the way everyone said it should.
I spent years embarrassed by my legs. Hiding them whenever I could. Sitting out at the beach. Wearing leggings in summer. Watching other women just exist in their bodies while I was constantly trying to manage mine.
When I finally got diagnosed with lipoedema, I felt something I didn’t expect.
Relief.
Because I hadn’t been lazy. I hadn’t been doing it all wrong. I’d been following advice that was never made for a lipoedema body.
That diagnosis changed everything. I’d already studied nutrition, but now I wanted to understand lipoedema properly. What supports it. What flares it. What women like us actually need when the usual “eat less and move more” advice doesn’t cut it.
After my diagnosis, I went to Bali and something cracked open for me.
I wore shorts. I had massages. I lay by the pool in the sun. I let myself be seen in a body I’d spent years trying to hide.
And for the first time in a long time, I felt free.
I came home knowing I wanted other women with lipoedema to feel that too.
That’s how The Lippy Nutritionist started. Not because I wanted to build some polished nutrition brand. Because I wanted women with lipoedema to have the education, tools, recipes, support, and community I didn’t have for so long.
My why is simple
You can eat in a way that supports your body. You can understand what’s going on. You can stop hiding from your own life.
And you can start now.
Qualifications & experience
Formally qualified in clinical nutrition, with a focus on lipoedema, women’s health, inflammation, and practical nutrition that works in real life.
I’ve been managing my own lipoedema for over 15 years, so I bring both clinical knowledge and lived experience to everything I teach.
I’m here to raise awareness, build community, and make sure women with lipoedema get real support, not another dismissive “just lose weight” conversation.
Not when your legs look different.
Not when the scale changes.
Not when you finally feel “ready.”
Right now. In the body you’re living in today.
